Week 8

Creative Text Created in Photoshop

Photoshop Reflections

Movie Poster

For this movie poster I used my own picture of me riding a bike last year. I then relied heavily on AI to supply all of the other contents, including my hair. I did create my own text and even used my own cloud texture on the movie title. I do realize there is room for improvement on this and I do have the working file to upgrade this poster in the future. I also realize that the glare on my face is a little out of place which is why I added meteors shooting upwards to try and give reason for the light.

I also did this one

Week 7

Magazine Cover

I chose this magazine as it both reminds me of better days and presented a challenge to recreate. This layout both tested my skills and reinforced them. Before the mill shut down, I would regularly cycle 140+ miles every week. I did many 100+mile rides and always loved going uphill. The adrenaline rush followed by the thrill of riding downhill was a big motivator. My intro into cycling came after an emergency surgery that signaled it was time to make a lifestyle change. Biking was a great answer to my problem, and I look forward this summer to get back into it.

Banners

I did many versions of this banner double exposure assignment to really explore all options that can be utilized for creativity. I look forward to using these tools more often.

Text on a Path

Text on a path using the pen tool was eye opening in how I can place text in different ways.

Pen Tool

I am grateful for the opportunity to do this assignment as it really helped me to better learn the pen tool. It is a tricky tool to use, but also useful.

Portfolio Poster

This project took some time to find the right photos to use from Adobe stock and the mask each object, create shadows, resizing and placing objects. The most time was spent on the astronaut mask. I used a macro photograph of my eye to displace into the earth the blend into the helmet and customize the text to follow a path and add 3D effect.

Week 6

Color Tinting Black & White Photographs

Color tinting these photographs was a fun project. I left the majority black and white for artistic preference.

Out Of Bounds Photographs

I found the out of bounds photograph assignment fun as well. All images from Adobe Stock Free Images.

Environmental/Sustainability Poster

I chose to lean toward sustainability for this assignment as this issue is a hot topic in the media. All images from Adobe Stock Images.

Puppet Warped Image

The puppet warp tool in Photoshop is amazing in the fact that images can be manipulated like puppets to create animation or image edits as shown here. very useful tool.

Week 5

Blending Images together

Blending these images together was a fun assignment that taught me a lot more about what Photoshop can do.

Fading 2 Images Together

Fading these images together was another insightful assignment that opened my mind to possibilities of Photoshop. The 2 photographs with the single tree are from the coursework that I was able to download and edit.

Web Tutorial Follow Along

This YouTube tutorial is a little bit dated, but the information is still very much effective. I found that this method not only works to blend a face in with a tree, but also with anything you want. To blend my face in with the seal, I did have to do some extra steps for it to look decent such as removing the seals face and adding my cutout eyes over the image and use some blending.

Photo Correction

images from assignment. I corrected the second one to straighten in, remove the red eye and marks, I added the missing picture and corrected the image color.

Motion Blurred Images

I experimented with different types of blurs to create a motion effect. Radial blur and motion blur.

Content Aware Move

I was able to extract images and multiply them. I then placed them in new positions and resized them. Snails and Ladybugs photographs are from the coursework that I was able to download and edit.

Week 4 Post Cards, Stamps, and Multiple layer Photographs

Week 3 Working with Selections

This photograph is a collage of different photographs that I took. I cut out each object including myself and the building in the background. I then moved them into this frame with my abstract autumn photograph to create a photography theme with personality. I also added my signature brush watermark at the bottom on both the right and left side.

Multiple layers to frame my photographs

I took these photographs with my wide-angle Lens and then brought them into Photoshop to edit and create the frames using multiple layers. I also used filters to blur the background and create unique text.

Week 2 Image editing

I edited this photograph of my grandmother to straighten the image, crop out the frame, increase the resolution, remove blemishes from the background, add color and bring out more detail.

I took this photograph of the lighthouse in Port Townsend, Washington and then used Photoshop to edit in in a way that aged it. The style I chose reminds me of the days growing up when I found old photo albums and some of the pictures looked just like this.

Week 1 Image editing

Live Stream Wallpaper

I took this photograph in Seattle and edited it before making adding color and blending modes. I then added text with a sharp dark blue drop shadow.

Photoshop filters on photographs

I took this photograph of the Dungeness River with a .8 second exposure using a 100mm macro lens. I really like how this rock becomes the focal point surrounded by turbulence. the following photographs have Photoshop filters applied.

The filters used on the photographs above in order left to right are: Find edges. Neural filters colorize with the rock excluded from the filter. Neural filters style transfer artist, with the rock excluded from the filter. The bottom photograph I used the solarize filter.

I took this photograph with a 100mm macro lens. This mushroom was no bigger than the moss growing on the log next to it, but the macro lens truly brings it to life. the following photographs have Photoshop filters applied.

The filters used on the photographs above in order left to right are: Twirl. High pass and oil paint. Oil paint with the mushroom excluded from the filter. Neural filters style transfer artist style with the mushroom excluded from the filter. Neural filters style transfer image style.
