Social Media

Social media is by far the most useful tool we have as creators. It connects us to the rest of the world via news feeds controlled by platform algorithms. When we post often and with the right content, the algorithm places our work higher in the newsfeed search results which increases the chances of being seen. We can also join groups and post relevant work for people to see. These things help to grow our digital presence. This is even more effective when we place links on our post to connect our other work and websites.

I have created a LinkedIn account and historically have posted class work on there, but the results have never been satisfying. I rarely get any engagement from that platform. A quick search says that the 5 best things that can be done to increase Klout with LinkedIn is to engage meaningfully with posts, post with strategy, timing and sequencing, content types that perform well, network authentically.

I have not learned how to work its’ algorithm. I have accounts with Reddit and Pinterest also. Again, little to no success. I find that my content get ranked higher on platforms like Nextdoor, Instagram, and Facebook. Although I have had more success on these platforms, I am still under utilizing them.
