There are several data points from this story that can relate to and inspire heroes. By analyzing the information in this story, it can be turned into raw data points used to inspire action. The main data point in this story is the true love Westly has for Buttercup. This drives the narrative through every twist and turn such as climbing the cliffs of insanity, dueling with Inigo, and even rescuing the princess from certain harm. The message is clear “love is worth the risk”. This data can be interpreted as a “North Star”. It is the guiding point of this story that determines all actions.

 For me, my north star is mastery. I continue to embark on new adventures in the pursuit of mastering new skills with the hopes of building something meaningful. Like the journey in this book, which is another data point, this pursuit has led me in many directions, each one a new skill mastered a hurdle overcome.

This book uses information in ways of battle and inspiration. It is a data point that I relate with as I further my college career towards success. With each new class I come closure to the prize of mastery. Unlike Westly, I will never fully attain my prize, and my journey will continue ever forward as I always strive to master the next big obstacle. My Heros Journey will never be complete, and I look forward to seeing what accomplishments lay ahead of me.
